Overview
Elephants in the Fog is a drama-thriller centered on Pirati, the matriarch of a Kinnar community, whose fight to protect her family unfolds against a backdrop of elephant attacks and a daughter's mysterious disappearance. Written and directed by Abinash Bikram Shah, the film features Pushp Thing Lama, Aliz Ghimire, Maotse Gurung, Sanjay Gupta, Akanchha Karki, and Jasmine Bishwokarma in a story praised for its raw, unflinching portrayal of marginalized lives. The film premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize, and releases in Nepal on September 4, 2026 (Bhadra 19, 2083).
